Salta is the Argentina city where the Spanish influence is best preserved. Enjoy its elegance that testifies the sumptuous past still alive in the large old houses and flowery courtyards. Also visit Cafayate, a beautiful village in the Calchaqui Valleys, famous for its wine production. Do not miss the beautiful landscapes of the Humahuaca Gorge with is old town full of history and tradition.

DAY 1 SALTA
Reception at Salta airport and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, a city tour visiting the Cathedral, the San Francisco Church and San Bernardo Hill with a magnificent view of the city. Return to the hotel. Dinner at restaurant.

DAY 2 SALTA
Breakfast. Full day excursion to Cafayate, a beautiful village in the heart of the Calchaqui Valleys passing by Las Conchas river gorge (also know as Cafayate gorge) with its amazing stone formation eroded by the carving action of wind and time. Lunch. In Cafayate, visit a winery and the Indian art Museum (optional). Return to Salta. Accommodations.

DAY 3 SALTA
Breakfast. Early departure for a drive along Humahuaca Gorge, passing by Purmamarca, Tumbaya, Tilcara, the Archeological Museum and the old Indian fortress called 'Pucara de Tilcara', and the typical parish church in Uquia, finally arriving in Hymahuaca. Lunch. Visit the Northern Carnival Museum and the Handicraft Fair. Return to the hotel. Accommodations.

DAY 4 SALTA
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport

OPTIONAL TOUR: WHITEWATER RAFTING JURAMENTO RIVER
Two hour rafting along the Juramento River (difficulty level 3) with accommodation at Hotel Del Disque, located on the coast of the largest man-made lake in the area: the Cabra Corral Dam; framed by a wonderful landscape and gorgeous view of the imposing dam along with high quality services. See dinosaur foot prints, petrified seaweed, all set in a beautiful environment.
