Argentina Estancias Tour Northwest

A fascinating tour around some noble estancias and farms in the Argentinean Northwest to get in touch with the typical farm activities that are carried out locally, such us the production of jams, cherry, wines and the harvesting of different regional produces. All of this with in Argentina Northwest region and one of the most beautiful landscapes.

DAY 1 SAN MIGUEL DE TUCUMAN / TAFI DEL VALLEY / CAFAYATE
Reception at the airport and visit Villa Nogues and San Javier hill, to get a panoramic view of city. Continue to Tafi del Valle though Los Saca gorge, and area of exuberant subtropical vegetation, passing by the Calchaqui Indian Monument and El Mollar, with the Provincial Park, Menhires a reserve of great archeological value. Arrival at Tafi del Valle, entrance gate to the Calchaqui valley, famous for the locally made goat cheese and the beautiful landscapes. Continue along National Route 40, we will pass by Amaicha del Valle, and continue to Quimes, where the ruins of an old Indian settlement are located. After a short visit to this interesting archeological site we will continue to Cafayate where we will visit a wine cellar. Accommodations. Dinner

DAY 2 CAFAYATE MOLINOS
Breakfast. Departure to Molinos, passing by Angastaco and San Carlos. Arrive at Molinos. Accommodation at Estancia Colome, a country boutique hotel settled in a vineyard. Dinner.

DAY 3 MOLINOS / FINCA EL MANATIAL
Breakfast. Departure to Cachi. Typical little colonial village. Visit to the Archeological Museum. Then we will continue though Cuesta del Obisbo a 10,826 feet above the sea level and Escoipe Gorge, to Finca El Manatial. Dinner. Accommodation at Estancia El Manatial.

DAY 4 FINCA EL MANANTIAL
Breakfast. This is an elegant estancia, but you will immediately notice the enormous kindness of it s owner who will offer you their hospitality to make you feel at home.This beautiful landscape is the perfect place to enjoy the contact with nature, at the Andes foothill. Some of the activities that can be enjoyed during our visit; trekking on the mountains for condor-spotting, horseback riding, visiting a dairy farm or a working mill built by the Jesuits in 1750. There is also a nice swimming pool where you will be able to relax for a few hours and get ready of continue your expeditions. Dinner. Accommodation at Finca El Manatial

DAY 5 FINACA EL MANATIAL / SALTA / FINCA LOS LAPACHOS
Breakfast. Afternoon departure to Salta for a brief city tour visiting the Cathedral, the Cabildo (old Town Tour), San Francisco Church, the craft market and other interesting spots. Return. We will continue towards Finca las Lapachos. Dinner Accommodations at the finca.

DAY 6 FINCA LOS LAPACHOS
Breakfast. Full day excursion to Humahuaca Gorge, passing Leon, Volcano, Tumbaya, Purmamarca framed by the Seven Color hill Tilcara with its Archeological Museum and the old refurbished Indian Fortress (know as Pucara de Tilcara) and Uquia Church, finally arriving at Humahuaca. Visit to the handicraft fair. On the way back to Salta it will be interesting to stop at Jujuy for a visit of this nice city. Dinner. Accommmodatios at Finca los Lapachos.

DAY 7 FINCA LOS LAPACHOS/ SALTA
Breakfast. Transfer to the local airport.
