Puerto Deseodo

DAY 1- COMORO RIVADAVIA
Reception at Comodora Rivadavia airport. Departure to Puerto Deseado, visiting the Jaramilo Petrified Woods on the way, fossilized by volcanic eruptions million of years ago. The trees became stone statues by the action of volcanic dust. These were mostly coniferous and even some palm trees that covered this land when it was not the bleak barren plateau that is today. Accommodation.

DAY 2 – PUERTO DESEADO
Breakfast. Full day excursion to Rio Deseado, an interesting inlet, and the adjoining area. The town of Puerto Deseado is located nearby. The inlet is unique for its geological features and the varied fauna. The river had dryed and course was covered by the sea. This is a national treasure, due to aesthetic and scientific reasons. It’s the only place in the world where five different species of cormorants live together, all of them feeding and nesting in the area. The Magellan penguin is an usual inhabitant of the inlet from October to April and the most important rockeries are Quiroga Island, Punta del paso Key, Birds islands and Chaffers island. Return to the hotel.

DAY 3 – PUERTO DESEADO – COMODORO RIVADAVIA.
Transfer to the airport or continue to visit the Patagonia.
