Calchaqui Valleys Vacation Package

A fascinating tour along the Calchaqui Valleys, one of the most impressive and beautiful valleys of all Argentinean landscapes. On the way, we will visit Cafayate, a lovely village skirted by river and vineyards, and we will see the most attractive natural rock formation produced by win erosion.

DAY 1 SALTA
Reception at the airport transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, city tour visiting the Cathedral, San Francisco Church and San Bernardo Hill, with a magnificent view of the city. Return to the hotel. Dinner at a restaurant.

DAY 2 SALTA /CACHI
Contiental breakfast. Departure for a tour around the Calchaqui Valleys, a natural treasure enclosed in on of the country’s most beautiful landscapes. We will pass by Chicoana, a small village devoted to Tobacco plantations. We will continue along Cuesa del Obispo, know as the ‘the condo’s home’ reaching 12,205 feet above sea level, offering a colorful view of the valley. Our visit goes on along Recta del Tin-Tin, we will pass by Los Cardones National Park with an outstanding abundance of giant cacti. Then we will follow the route to San Jose de Cachi at the foot of the white snow-covered peak of Cachi, and afterwards, we will visit the archeological museum and the church in the ancient town, founded in the XVII century. Lunch. Accommodations. Dinner.

DAY 3 CACHI/ SALTA
Continental breakfast. Departure towards Cafayate, driving along mountainous rouds passing by Seclantas, Molinos, San Carlos, el Barrial and Animana, small typcial villages devoted to sweet pepper farming to produce paprika. Arrival in Cafayate, located 5,577 feet abov sea level. This town is one of those peaceful, colonial-type settlements that evokes the feeling of time. Its vineyards produce quite renowned wines.
