Safari to the Colchaqui Valleys

DAY 1 SALTA
Reception at the local airport. Transfer to the hotel. Salta City tour, a place with a very rich architecture, including the Cathedral and the Cabido (old town hall) both built in the XIX century. One of the most interesting spots is the panoramic view of the city from San Bernando Hill. Return to the hotel.

DAY 2   SALTA / CAFAYATE
Continental breakfast. Departure on the Movitrack crossing the Lema Valley to reach the Escoipe Canyon and Cuesta del Ogispo (Bishop's Slope). Along the Recta de Tin-Tin route, we will travel though the Los Cardones national park to Reach the old village of Cachi, placed at the foot of the snow-covered peak of Mt. Cachi (20,931Feet). On a picturesque little road, we will skirt the fertile valleys of the Calchaqui river though little villages such as Molinas, Angastaco and San Carlos. Later, we will cross the impressive Quebrad de las Flechas (Arrow Gorge). We will continue to Cafayate to know and taste main activity of this valley: wine production. Accommodations.

DAY 3 CAFAYATE/SALTA
Continental breakfast. We will visit the Quilmes Ruins. On our way back to Salta we will travel though the a main landscape of the Quebrada de la Conchas (Calchaqui River Gorge) with its fascinating rock formation that will be greatly admired from the open roof of the Movitrack and them, we will visit Santa Anita, a traditional goat dairy farm. Arrive at Salta. Accommodations.

DAY 4 SALTA
Continental breakfast. Departure towards a densely forested area in the outskirts of Salta to enjoy a half day bird watching tour, with guides specialized in ornithology, to see the typical species of there Argentina Northwest which outstand for their immense beauty and variety. Don't   miss the imposing flight of the Condor an the continues fluttering of the little birds in the lusty forest. Return to Salta. Accommodations.
